Welcome, welcome! I’m so glad to see you made it. I hope you didn’t get lost.

Did you just get here from Angie’s house at the Country Chic Cottage? Her home is so cozy and beautiful (so make sure you didn’t miss her stop on the tour!)

I’m so glad to have you over for the 2013 Summer Tour of Homes.

It’s hot outside for sure. These North Carolina summers are hot and humid.

Here’s a glass of sweet tea for you to cool off. Come on in and take a load off in our mudroom.

In fact, feel free to kick off your shoes and relax with me for the next few cyber minutes. I’m not going to talk much, instead I’ll let you soak up the sights. Feel free to ask your questions or leave a comment after you’re done.

Laundry Room Projects: Scraping Popcorn Ceilings, Hanging Swag Fixture, Installing Flow Wall Cabinets.

I promised I wouldn’t talk much, but I have to tell you that this is our brand new kitchen!

It’s still not complete because I have to install the tile on the backsplash and the wall to the right of the sink. But, it’s a far cry from where our kitchen was several months ago after we had an unfortunate plumbing leak.

We truly made lemonade out of that big serving of wet, moldy, asbestos and termite damaged lemons!

You’re welcome to stick around for some marshmallows and s’mores by our fire circle.

Phew, what a long day you’ve had. Seven houses in one day! Get some rest because Rhoda at Southern Hospitality will be serving up her southern charm bright and early tomorrow!

If you are running fashionably late, make sure you check out all the other homes on the tour! They’ll leave the light on for ‘ya.

Everything is beautiful. You are very talented. Can you tell me the paint color you used in the downstairs powder room. It looks like what I’ve been looking for.

Sue, thanks for your comment. I wish I had an exact match for you, but because it was a custom mix, here are the closest colors:

It is a cross between Sherwin Williams Rain SW6219 (too blue) and Quietude SW 6212 (too green). Or Sherwin Williams Aqua-Sphere SW 7613 but about 15% lighter.

      I hope that helps!

Oh my gosh… what a photo bomb of amazingness! Your kitchen turned out sooooo charming! Love the farmhouse touches to the walls and lights. And that ART STUDIO. Giiiirllll… Also loving how your headboard appears to illuminate from the sun… what a cool effect! Gorgeous home, Brittany!

Girl that is a lot of pictures but I still wanted more! It’s too fabulous to stop looking. It feels like I have gotten to know you better, which I love. That sandwich and lemonade on the deck, it was for me right? So I will be enticed to come visit and stay a while? 😉 Lisa~

Wonderful, wonderful, wonderful, Brittany! So now I sound like Lawrence Welk, but honestly I just had to say it three times! You’ve done such an amazing job in so many ways. And it’s really exciting to see how your kitchen is shaping up. Good for you! I’m proud to know you!!

I was trying to decide which room of yours was my favorite, the kitchen or the art studio. But then I saw the camping bedroom and then the back porch! Brittany, you have such a beautiful home with a comfortable feel. I like your decorating style and each of the many projects you’ve done to personalize each room. Thanks so much for the home tour. (I’ve finally decided, my favorite is the colorful porch!)

You finish projects so quickly! Congratulations on your kitchen! You have wonderful ideas that I dream of implementing. Sooner than most may be the jewelry tree (how neat that it hangs the delicate necklaces AND has a bowl at the bottom to catch the small stuff?) and the fire pit. Love that! And it’s elegantly simple. I’m so glad you are blogging. Thanks for sharing your ideas and spreading inspirations!

    okay.. funny story…

The fabric that’s on your round glass top table? that’s the fabric my duvet is made of in my master bedroom. (aqua with green leaves and that pluumy color burst…) the green geometric fabric is the reverse of my curtains. Yours is green with the white… mine’s white with the green.

    now… what I need to know is…

WHERE did you get the FABRIC for the table cloth? (The round table, glass top, under the vase of hydrangeas?) I could use some more, and possibly (mostly) some coordinating fabrics to reupholster a chair in our master bedroom…. and to make some more toss pillows. I’ve got some in the same color family but I still have a bunch of other toss pillows that need new covers. And I small throw for the foot of my bed to use when napping, as opposed to unmaking my bed…. I would LOVE to be able to whip one up…

oh actually that’s hilarious… you used the shower curtain, also. 🙂 and I checked, mine is the green with white links, just like yours. hehe… so funny to look here and see the SAME fabrics I paired in someone else’s home (even tho yours is outside, while mine is inside….)

    Hi Brittany,

I am in awe. Your home is so cozy and colorful. I love the kitchen and your porch and the craft room and oh well all of it. Did this happen over years or all at once. It looks like it evolved over time with lots of love!
I admire all of your woodworking skills too. I enjoyed the class at Haven so much!
Thank you for giving me courage to try to do it myself!

      Brittany Bailey says:

Cheryl, thank you for the compliment. It’s been about 6 years in the making, but most of the work has been done in the past 3 years when I started blogging ;-). So glad you came to our class at Haven, I do hope we inspired you.

WOW! I love how you have decorated your screened porch. It’s beautiful and looks so comfortable and inviting! We downsized 9 years ago and I think bedsides my vast amount of storage space in our former home, we miss the screened in porch most of all. Think it is because we built it ourselves in 1995, a year after my DH retired. I didn’t know about blogs back then because there are so many blogs that I follow that would have inspired me to decorate it better. It is used by the current owners now as a toy garage for her day care she runs out of the home. When I go back to visit our next door neighbors and I look over to our former home, it breaks my heart but the new owners are such lovely people and a lot of fun.

    • Brittany Bailey
      Brittany Bailey says:

Betty, what a sweet story about you and your husband building that screen porch. I bet someday when the current owners no longer run a daycare they’ll appreciate it as an extension of the home. When our kids were younger it looked like a toy garage too ;-D.

  20. Christina
    Christina says:

Super cute!!! Wish you could do my house : )

Question… What paint colors did you use in your house? What trim colors? I need some good neutrals and a soft white color for trim.

Thank you so much for sharing!
